Accessibility.

somalc aims to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This page covers this website, not the somalc platform, which isn’t open yet.

Statement prepared 16 October 2026, against the site as built on that date

What is built in

  • A skip link to the main content, and page landmarks on every page.
  • One heading 1 per page.
  • An accessible name on every link, button and form control.
  • A visible focus ring on everything you can reach by keyboard.
  • Body text measured against its background at 4.5 to 1 or more.
  • Layouts that reflow to one column on small screens, with no sideways scrolling.
  • Form errors in words, next to the field, and announced to screen readers.

Motion

On the home page, a sample History answer is marked in four steps as you scroll, and a caption under it says in words what each step shows. If your system is set to reduce motion, nothing is pinned or animated: the answer is shown already marked, with all four captions as a list. The shapes on the About page follow your pointer only when motion is allowed.
