Privacy.
What this website collects, why, and what you can do about it. In short: only what you type into a form, used for one thing.
Who we are
somalc is run by Vaderaa Consulting, in Ireland, which is the data controller for this website. Write to info@somalc.ie about anything on this page.
What is collected
- If you sign up: your email address, and which of four things you said you are: a student, a teacher, a parent or guardian, or something else.
- If you ask to hear about the teacher view: your school email address.
- If you email us: your email address and what you write.
Nothing else. There are no analytics on this site, no advertising and no third-party scripts. No cookie is set. The fonts are served from this site, not from another company.
Like any website, the servers that deliver these pages see your IP address in order to send them to you.
What it is used for
A sign-up is used for one thing: to email you on the day somalc opens to students, or the day the teacher view is ready. An email you send us is used to answer you. The lawful basis for a sign-up is your consent, given by submitting the form, and you can withdraw it at any time.
How long it is kept
A sign-up is kept until that message is sent, or until you ask for it to be removed, whichever comes first. An email is kept for as long as it takes to deal with it.
Who it is shared with
Nobody. Your data is never sold, to advertisers, to data brokers or to anyone else. It is held on Amazon Web Services infrastructure in the European Union and is not copied anywhere else.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or object to it being held at all. Write to info@somalc.ie and it will be done. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission.
People under 16
Ireland sets the digital age of consent at 16. If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian before giving us your email address.
When somalc opens
This notice covers this website: its pages, its sign-up forms and email to us. The somalc platform isn’t open yet. It will have its own privacy notice when it opens, and this page will link to it.
